Born in 1982, Kendric Tonn cannot claim to have been one of those children who seems destined from a young age to go into the visual arts; he began drawing and painting seriously only while he was in college, where he was studying English lit with a vague notion in his head of becoming some variety of writer.
By the time he finished school, it was evident that he actually had no particular desire to write. After spending a year in Japan reconsidering his options, he noticed that he had been spending most of his free time producing pictures, and decided to enroll at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
After two years at SCAD, seeking a more classical grounding in the art, he transferred to the Florence Academy of Art, at which he spent slightly under four years completing his training as a painter. He is currently based in Ohio, and may be contacted at artist@kendrictonn.com.
